How to Install

Traditional Roll

  • Before You Begin

Portray wallpaper is recommended to be installed on smooth surfaces. Surfaces are recommended to be primed.

    Step 1 |

Clean and dry your walls thoroughly.

    Step 2 |

Measure the height of your wall.
Unpack and unroll wallpaper to prepare for your first panel.
Cut your first panel to the length equal to the height of your wall plus an additional 2” to accommodate for any variations in your wall.
(Note: Cutting the first panel will make the installation a little easier)

    Step 3 |

The installation process should begin at the top left corner of your wall.
Apply paste to the portion of your wall where the panel will go.
Align & adjust the top of the panel to your wall confirming vertical alignment with your level.

    Step 4 |

Using your plastic smoothing tool, work your way from top to bottom, smoothing out and removing any bubbles from paper.
(Note: Gradually remove backing as needed.)

    Step 5 |

Once the first panel is set, repeat installation process with remaining panels, placing the panels flush against one another. There should be no space left between panels.
(Note: Verify design alignment from panel to panel.)
Once all panels have been installed, trim any excess material using a craft knife.
(Note: Ensure craft knives are sharp to avoid any tears in the paper.)
